Hand-drawn comics tickle funny bones and promote literacy. Kids build organization skills and boost brain power as they illustrate their cartoon strip.
1.
Cut one or two sheets of white paper in half lengthwise with Crayola® Scissors. Make one long strip by taping the pieces together with clear adhesive tape.
2.
With Crayola Washable Crayons and a ruler, divide the paper into even sections with vertical lines. These are the frames for your comic strip.
3.
Imagine your comic strip characters and theme. Organize the sequence of events for your story. Plan the pictures for each frame.
4.
Draw and color the pictures for your comic strip in order in the frames. Write words for dialogue, or ask an adult to help.
5.
Tell your story to your friends by pointing to each picture and explaining the action. Draw sequels to your comic strip to keep the story going!
